Excavating and Expanding - for and with folks who identify as female

We are all male and female, both. Being the dance of Yin and the Yang, it is living feminine and masculine qualities both what makes us whole and integrated. Our culture has long favored the masculine over the feminine: Power tops gentleness, doing and action count more than waiting and relaxation, intellect seems to bring in the big bucks while intuition cannot be relied upon.

The female body is, globally speaking, still a very dangerous place to inhabit.

Even in (relatively safe) Western societies, most of us are the daughter or granddaughter of a woman whose value depended entirely on her beauty, on raising children or on other means to please or serve men in her life. We still obsess with how we look rather than knowing, feeling and celebrating our body from the inside. We may mistrust men, and as we protect ourselves, neglected feelings of hurt and resentment diminish our chance of having fulfilling intimate relationships. Equally, comparing and competing with other women makes it hard to trust, nourish and enjoy each other. This process is designed to bring compassion to old wounds with men and also women, allowing them to be held and to heal.

Very possibly our playful, warm and sensual feminine qualities are somewhat protected, overused or shriveled up. Or, as we keep pushing ourselves, our male qualities are so heavily relied upon and efforted that those gifts harden and become distorted. In the post Me Too era it is time for a fresh inquiry for women into what it means to be unapologetically herself. We can let go of the hangovers we carry from the old domination.

In the inner alchemy of a healthy Yin and Yang, liberation of the female cannot take place without liberation of the male, and visa versa.

This is an eye opening, exciting and exhilarating journey to deeply explore the pure beauty and strength of the male and the female inside. Freed and nourished, the inner woman and inner man can now truly support and complement each other. As a whole person, with all these aspects embodied and integrated, an entirely new relationship to our nature, to the other, and to life is now possible.
